We’ve moved from the backyard to the beach and beyond! Birds at the Beach and Beyond is also a whimsical introduction to the incredible birds that children see at the beach, marsh, or pond. Each page presents a new bird in colorful collage with a fun rhyme: Pelican parades pass in the sea sky. Sanderlings play games with the waves. Opsreys go swoosh.

Birds at the Beach and Beyond starts at dawn and ends at dusk, so that little ones might “sleep now and dream well” before the birds “rise with the sun.”

Illustrator Dee Paras created charming collages of hand-painted papers to bring each bird to life on the page. And for readers who want to learn more, the book features information about how to be a friend to birds at the beach, the National Aviary, and collage as an art form.
